A career talk on success, values and meaning
A 47-year veteran of Hong Kong's insurance industry, Y. K. Chan is the Regional Director of Agency with AXA Insurance. He is also a Founding Member of the Actuarial Association, the Founding President of the Life Underwriters Association, a Founding Director of the General Agent and Managers Association, the Founding Chairman of the Society of Insurance Brokers, and a Founding Member of the Insurance Industry Coalition in Hong Kong. In addition, Mr. Chan had served the Hong Kong Government as a Member of the Insurance Advisory Committee for 13 years.
Mr. Chan has also been an active politician in Hong Kong for the past 20 years. The Executive Committee Chairman of the Liberal Party in the 90s, Mr. Chan successfully lobbied the government to set up the Mandatory Provident Fund in Hong Kong and succeeded in establishing insurance as one of the three legislative functional constituencies from the financial sector of Hong Kong. Currently, he is a Member of the Hong Kong Election Committee and a Council Member of the Better Hong Kong Foundation.
Apart from business and political achievements, Mr. Chan also actively supports charity work and marketplace ministry. He is an Honorary Director of the Sowers Action, the Founder of the World’s Salt and Light Charitable Foundation, and the Chairman of Board with Oaks Ltd.
